Middletown North Senior Richie Grabowksi Picks Up Grinnell Offer

Contact@GoMVB.com Middletown, NJ: While it was not the best year on the field for the Middletown North football team, the Shore Conference team can make its season that much better with a win over rivals Middletown South on Thanksgiving.

It will be a tough task, but the senior class, led by safety Richie Grabowski, will want to go out winners with a huge upset over their neighbors.

For Grabowski though, the 2022 campaign will be one to remember. The defensive stalwart picked up an offer from Grinnell College, while other noteworthy names such as University of New Hampshire, Monmouth, and Lock Haven, are showing significant interest.

Where Grabowski eventually ends up will have to do with a few factors, but academics is going to be high up that list: the senior had a 3.8 GPA heading into his seventh semester and will look to boost that number up close to a 4.0.

On the field, Grabowski picked up an honor as one of the top safeties in the Shore Conference. But his work extends to the locker room and weight room as well: Grabowski has been a vocal leader and has his bench and squat numbers ready to keep moving up and up over the winter and spring.

Here is what a coach said about the safety:

“We watched him play in a game North seemingly had no business being in, and he just made play after play to keep his team in the game. He was getting great reads on the quarterback, and broke up a few passes that really should have been huge gains for the offense. I thought he did a good job in the run game as well. He looks like one of those players that would go into a college program and just keep getting better, but maybe more importantly, help those around him get better.”
