Contact@GoMVB.com Wheatley Heights, NY: When you see so many of these talented players picking up new Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals right now, most of them are players that might be in college or soon to be there.

What makes Lucas Martin different is that he has only just started his sophomore season on the football field at Half Hollow Hills East on Long Island!

Martin, a Class of 2025 rising star at the wide receiver and defensive back position, has already picked up some interest from Division 1 team Temple as well as Stony Brook and Stevenson. When you are a standout player on a team full of them, you are going to get noticed, no matter what age you are. Martin signed his NIL deal with Sayers Show Shop, along with four of his teammates that have worked hard over the last couple years to put the Dix Hills school on the football map.

But how about Martin’s work off the field? He has been in the weight room and conditioning program relentlessly to add bulk to his frame, and Martin is still growing, so that should be no issue. In the classroom, the star already boasts a 3.7 GPA after his freshman year, and that is a very good base to bump it up even higher over the next few semesters.

Here is what a coach has said about him and his ability to make plays at such a young age:

“I think at the wide receiver position, you can impact a game with speed and strength at any age. But it might be a little harder to do that defensively. Martin can do both. Right now, I think college coaches are projecting what he can be when he finishes growing–remember, he is only 15 right now–and can see Martin is a star in the making. He just works so hard in everything he does, you know he is going to get so much better over the next few years.

“I know a lot of people are excited to see what he can do the rest of his sophomore year, as well as his final two years in high school.”
