Hun's Christian Soltis Finishes Sophomore Season, Shows Versatility, Being D-1 Recruited as an “A...

Contact@GoMVB.com Freehold, NJ: If you are a young football player trying to get noticed, attending the Hun School in New Jersey is an automatic advantage.

Being a 6-foot-3, 200-pound “ATH” is another way to get on someone's radar.

Of course, having talent doesn't hurt either.

Christian Solis, a sophomore at the Princeton-based private school, has all three aspects going for him.

Veteran head coach Todd Smith has sent hundreds of players to the college ranks, on all levels. So by just being there on the field, someone is going to notice you either in person or on film because the scouts are all watching the Red Raiders, who finished 2022 with a 9-0 record.

It also helps that Soltis, who is listed as a wide receiver/defensive back, is being recruited as a versatile ATH, meaning college coaches do not have to pin him down to one position.

The kid can also play. Otherwise, he would not have been on the varsity field for Smith as a sophomore and he would not already have been invited to such schools as:

Northwestern - Unofficial Visit
Boston College - Unofficial Visit
UPenn - Game Day Visit
Princeton - Game Day Visit
Army West Point - Game Day Visit

Another thing Soltis, a Freehold resident, has in his favor is getting his name out there on such sites as GoMVB and attending as many camps as possible at a young age.

"I've seen seniors scrambling late in the process to get their names out there,'' said Soltis. "So, I figure the earlier you start, the more time you have to get your name out there and understand how the recruiting process works.''

Soltis, whose time on the field this season was limited due to a quad injury, benches 275, squats 335 and runs a fully automatic time of 4.65 in the 40-yard dash. He has attended several camps already with two years still to go.

Already he has been to nine different camps and showcases over the past two seasons to get his name known, including the:

FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY COACH NORVELL SUNSHINE SHOWCASE
RIVALS SKILLS CAMP COMPETITION
UNDER ARMOR NEXT COMBINE PRO DAY AT IMG ACADEMY
FBU TOP GUN INVITATIONAL NATIONAL SHOWCASE CAMP
RUTGERS CHOP 24
MONMOUTH, MARYLAND, SYRACUSE FOOTBALL CAMP
USA FOOTBALL US NATIONAL TEAM REGIONALS NEW JERSEY
RIVALS COMBINE SERIES

Soltis is a member of the Honor Roll and is a member of a church youth group.

Scouting Report: ''Defensively, Soltis is very athletic. He is a lockdown corner with the ability to see the whole field, so he knows when a play becomes a run, he has the speed to make the tackle. And he hits hard. Offensively, he's a tough matchup and he can make any play, long or short, in traffic. He is also a solid blocker, taking his man as far off the play as possible by playing to the whistle. He is also a tough special teams player, able to assess the field and know where the return man is at all times.''
