Garden State Ducks OF/P Caden Lozito Could Be Next NJ Star Player

How can you project such a thing, when he is still young and growing? Look at his scout day numbers.

The Garden State Ducks and West Essex player recently posted some eye-popping numbers at a fall combine for the Ducks. He was in a group with players that were two years older in some cases, and Lozito had one of the best home-to-first times (4.1 seconds) and velocity numbers (78 mph.) from the mound. He also had THE best velo number from the outfield (78 mph.) at just 5-9, 140-pounds.

Think about what he is going to do over the next four years of high school and with the Ducks as he gets into the strength and conditioning programs.

He has already made a big impression in New Jersey, and he is just getting started.

Lozito backs up his work on the field in the classroom, where he has been one of the better students in his grade each year.

“I was really impressed at how hard he throws, and also how well he plays the outfield. He can go in the gaps and track down anything. He also gets good reads on balls off the bat, showing that he has good instincts. He can bring it from the mound as well, and will be someone to watch over the next few years as he grows into his frame.

“At the plate, he has a smooth swing, and can get down the line. He is going to get his home to first time under four seconds soon, and that should mean increased extra-base hits as he starts to find the gaps.”
